The feeling of exhilaration! (DAY 1)

The feeling of exhilaration! (DAY 1)

The Day I of School Internship on 02.11.2020 (Monday) gave me a feeling of great relief and confidence. It gave me new strength, vigour, and a firm belief that I will be able to do this. But much more than that I will always associate the day with the feeling of extreme happiness that I got when the students called me “teacher:” That was my main take away from the day. I hope the feeling will remain throughout the phase.

What comes easy won't last. What lasts won't come easy...

The Highlights!

Upon reflection, I could list out the following highlights of my class:

  •       Go Green!

When you are constantly trying to impart a message to protect nature it's vital that the teacher follows the same. Being a role model is important here. Every teaching aid I used in my class was following the green protocol. No plastic or thermocol was used. I even reused the charts used as the teaching aids.

  •       Handmade Blackboard
Blackboard made of chart and wood

Rather than using a board brought from the shop I build my own blackboard using charts and wood. The end product raised the level of the whole class.

  •       Attendance Chart
Attendance chart with hand-drawn stickers

As a form of reinforcement students who successfully complete the activities in the class were given ‘stars’ at the beginning of the class. Every day a new form of the sticker was hand-drawn and given to them.

  •      Improvised Teaching Aids

Almost all the teaching aids used were hand-made or drawn by the teacher.

  •       Innovative Word Study
To teach the word hysteria๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž

The teaching of vocabulary was made fun using the analogies from films, sports, and situational teaching.

  •       Story Telling

Arun travelled around the world...

The art of story-telling is much appreciated by the students. To introduce the concept of the chapter the teacher crafted a story of a boy who travelled around the world.

  •       Real life Objects

Caring a plant is caring life!

8.      Real plants were used for transacting the content

  •      Recitation

Rather than using audio or video, the teacher recited the poem for the students. I felt it was a good strategy.

The first day offered me an amazing experience to remember for a lifetime. the joy of doing new things and able to fulfill it satisfactorily is a good feeling. Waiting for many more good things to happen. Afterall hope is the thing that keeps us going.
